Keep Our City Clean, Safe and Desirable

nyc-rooftopsCivil Rights groups need to help the homeless find proper shelter thru fundraising, government assistance, HELP USA, which Andrew Cuomo started, or other charity groups. It is incumbent on the gov’t and/private sector non profits, to provide help to the mentally ill, even panhandlers, find legal safe shelter for all homeless, and also to keep our city clean, safe, desirable and inhabitable, for the tax payers and visitors as well.
Honestly though, saying that homeless civil rights (living on a bus station? Train station? On a subway grate?) are more important than every other tax payers civil rights, (life, liberty, pursuit of happiness- safety, clean city, paid upkeep of city and public transportation) is wrong. DeBlasio has let the problem grow back to the Dinkins’ days.  Going to Penn station is scary. Being approached all over town for money is very scary. Having people on subways break into speeches about how the passengers “need to help the man with the hat” is reminiscent of the ” bad old days.” And the homeless deserve better than these “alternatives” too! They need real help to have a real home and safe place to live and a REAL JOB. We need our city to be more responsible to us all.
